Pedal and pedestrian power are fun, healthy commuting strategies
that energize employees and reduce traffic congestion, air pollution and
the need for parking. Commute Solutions will help encourage these two
alternatives by providing bicycle and pedestrian commuting tips and trail
maps, and bike storage facilities in the region. Get the day off to a
healthy start by walking or riding a bike to work.
The Houston
Bikeway Program provides for the design, construction, and maintenance
of a citywide network of bicycle routes integrated into an overall transportation
network for the Houston area. The program offers over 300 miles
of interconnected bikeway network spanning across 500 square miles. The bikeway network consists
of off-road hike and bike trails, on-street bike lanes and on-street bike
routes.
