What is a Clean Air Champion?

Clean Air Champions are businesses, governments, or other organizations with operations in the Houston Galveston Brazoria nonattainment region that are actively taking steps to improve the region’s air quality. H-GAC has adopted a list of voluntary measures whose implementation will result in immediate and real emission reductions and improved public health. We encourage you to review those measures applicable to your organization and to inform us if your organization qualifies for recognition as a Clean Air Champion.

Which Application Should You Complete?

The Clean Air Champion Program recognizes different measures for organizations depending on whether their activities are primarily Office based or Fleet based.  

If your organization’s activities are primarily Office based please complete the Office Clean Air Champion Application online ordownload the print version. Office based organizations include professional firms and plant or industrial operations.

If your organization’s activities are primarily Fleet based please complete the Fleet Clean Air Champion Application by download the print version. Fleet based organizations include firms with fleet operations and sales firms/consultants whose employees drive regularly as part of their job.

If you are uncertain as to which of these best describes your organization please review both applications and complete the one that is most applicable to your organization. If your organization is both Office and Fleet based you are encouraged to complete both applications.

Every year newly designated Clean Air Champions are recognized at the annual Clean Air Action "Best in Motion" Leadership Awards Luncheon and through an annual insert in the Houston Business Journal.

The 2012 Clean Air Action Leadership Awards Luncheon will be held on September 20th.
