The second Island Connect park and ride serving Galveston County mainland cities and Galveston Island began Monday, April 30, 2012. In a unique arrangement between Gulf Coast Center and the City of Galveston, the park and ride service will operate both northbound and southbound.

Northbound service will operate from two Galveston parking lots to League City and Webster destinations. Eight morning southbound trips will depart from Victory Lakes Park and Ride at 2240 Gulf Freeway and make five stops on the Island including UTMB, downtown Galveston, ANICO, City Hall, and 53rd& Broadway.

Four morning northbound trips will depart from UTMB and the Island Community Center (47th & Broadway) and will make three Mainland stops including Victory Lakes Town Center and Victory Lakes Specialty Care Center in League City and Clear Lake Center in Webster.

This new Island Connect park and ride service is funded in part by the Houston-Galveston Area Council’s Commuter and Transit Services Pilot Project program.
